Business Analyst, Policy and External Affairs, Oxford UK

ClimateCare and Natural Capital Partners has an exciting opening for a Business Analyst based at its London or Oxford offices, or remotely in the UK for an exceptional candidate. Working within the Partnerships and External Affairs Team, the Business Analyst will be responsible for scoping new partnership opportunities and conducting both market and client research, and analysis, delivering actionable insights to support the development of our services to clients and identify partnerships to drive innovation in our market.

Key to the role is research and analytical skills, with the ability to work with both qualitative and quantitative data to generate useful insights to guide the team’s activities, appropriately leveraging internal resources to ensure successful outcomes. The Business Analyst is expected to project manage the delivery of white papers, briefs, webinars and trainings for key internal and external stakeholders, working closely with other members of the team.

The position requires strong interpersonal communication and organisational skills, project management ability and attention to detail. The Business Analyst has a key role to play in ensuring the smooth running of the team, allowing it to develop and scale in response to the rapidly increasing demand for corporate climate action.


  • Assist in the qualification and scoping of new partner opportunities, including corporate and market research, due diligence, preparing opportunity briefs, and coordinating team members’ activities.
  • Analyse quantitative and qualitative market and client data to drive actionable insights across the organisation.
  • Remain up-to-date on market and regulatory changes within carbon markets and corporate sustainability.
  • Contribute to the delivery of team targets and objectives, including supporting senior staff in the creation and delivery of trainings, briefing notes, and presentations to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Play an active role in managing the priorities and delivery of the team’s work, ensuring accurate record-keeping, reporting and tracking, and project management.


  • Skills in critical thinking, data gathering and analysis, and writing, acquired from a relevant degree course or from first-hand experience
  • Experience in quantitative and qualitative desk-based research and organising and analysing data
  • Rigour and attention to detail
  • Experience working with Excel or other data analysis software
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once, prioritising tasks and delivering in a timely manner
  • Ability to solve problems and make challenging decisions, based on sound judgement and analytical techniques
  • Consultative approach, interpersonal and influencing skills, an excellent communicator, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of the carbon markets and corporate sustainability an advantage, but not required
