Senior Manager, Client Solutions DACH

Working as part of our Client Solutions team this is a senior business development role. The Senior Manager, Client Solutions (SMCS) is client-facing and is directly responsible for the development of the revenue and margin in the DACH region.

The SMCS will be the business development lead for the Germany, Austria and Switzerland (DACH region) and take responsibility for identifying, developing and supporting new business leveraging our products and value-add services. It is a strong advantage for the person to have a deep understanding of the Voluntary Carbon Market (VCM) including corporate Net Zero. The ideal candidate will have experience selling carbon credits and/or GHG reporting services to the private sector and have experience of project development with different carbon removal technologies.

The role requires the development and negotiation of proposals for new business, including evaluating and responding to RFPs and ensuring renewals are successfully managed.

As this will be a key hire into the DACH region, the person needs to be autonomous, yet highly connected to the organisation, thus we expect the person to be familiar with working in a remote yet fast-paced client engagement role.


  • Prepare and deliver a costed annual plan for the development of region including key accounts to achieve agreed financial targets.
  • Take overall responsibility for the successful management and development of clients in the DACH region, acting as a respected and trusted strategic advisor to clients.
  • Over time, recruit and develop a client services team, developing their skills and experience and ensuring all clients are provided with a consistently high standard of service.
  • Provide accurate financial forecasts and keep an updated pipeline on Salesforce with weekly sales meetings.
  • Proven account planning and administration - manage all necessary administrative paperwork including reviewing and recommending contractual/ legal terms with clients, status reports, contact reports and invoicing.
  • Pro-actively develop ideas and proposals to drive the clients’ business forward and develop new business – drawing on the wider team as required.


  • Advanced degree in business or science is preferred, however a degree is not prerequisite
  • Evidence of sustained success in a client facing role in a B2B environment
  • Illustration of ability to work in the Carbon Market and think strategically about the client relationship, develop a thorough understanding of the client objectives, and experience of creating long term value for both the client and the business
  • Demonstration of strong sales and process management backed up with disciplined time management and organisational ability, attention to detail and business administration skills
  • Ability to solve complex problems and make challenging decisions based on sound judgement and analytical techniques
  • Experience communicating and selling technical products/services to non-technical audiences
  • Ability to coordinate marketing and communications for the region
  • Consultative and collaborative approach with strong interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Excellent communicator, both written and verbal
  • Commercially and impact minded
  • Perpetual learner, staying on top of critical sustainability issues relevant to our clients
  • Legal ability to work in geography (i.e., national or holder of work permit required)
  • High level of proficiency with MS Office products – especially PowerPoint and Excel
  • Fluency in German and English is required
  • Retain a sense of humour.
