Sky commitment to net zero
In 2006, Sky became the world’s first CarbonNeutral® media company, and has continued this commitment ever since. In 2020 the company announced that all its Sky Originals productions from 2019 onwards would be certified CarbonNeutral in accordance with The CarbonNeutral Protocol.
The company has committed to be net zero by 2030 - cutting emissions from the business, suppliers and use of its products by at least 50%, and planting trees, mangrove and seagrass to absorb unabated emissions.
Sky also uses its voice through its programming and digital content to inspire people to join the #GoZero campaign and is the Principal Partner and Media Partners for the UN Climate Change Conference (COP 26) taking place in Glasgow, UK, at the end of 2021.
