Our Pledges and Partnerships

Since we began more than 20 years ago we have worked closely with experts and influencers to deliver results and impact of the highest quality for our clients.

Pledges

Natural Capital Partners is a signatory of The Climate Pledge, an initiative co-founded by Amazon and Global Optimism to rally businesses around the goal of becoming net-zero carbon by 2040—a decade ahead of the Paris Agreement’s goal of 2050. By doing so, Natural Capital Partners has also joined the Race To Zero, an initiative by the UNFCCC’s High-Level Climate Champions for Climate Action.

The United Nations (UN) Global Compact calls on companies to do business responsibly by aligning their strategies and operations with Ten Principles on human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption; and take strategic action to advance broader societal goals such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Our commitment to the Ten Principles covers all business activities, our personnel, and any other organisation with which we interact.

Association Memberships

We are a founding member of The International Carbon Reduction and Offset Alliance (ICROA), a non-profit professional industry body hosting a membership of businesses that deliver carbon reduction and offset services. The primary aim of ICROA is to promote best practices in carbon management and offsetting to support voluntary climate mitigation efforts. Jonathan Shopley is currently chair of ICROA.

Our Managing Director, Jonathan Shopley is a board member of The International Emissions Trading Association (IETA), a non-profit business organisation created to establish a functional international framework for trading in greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reductions. IETA members seek to develop an emissions trading regime that results in real and verifiable GHG emission reductions, while balancing economic efficiency with environmental integrity and social equity.

As members of RECS International, including a Board position, we are part of a network of more than 140 industry organisations from around the world with the common goal of stimulating clean energy demand and promoting the generation of new renewable technologies. By actively participating in working groups and sharing best practice through RECS International, we represent the needs of our clients to ensure tracking systems are credible, reliable and cost-effective, enabling businesses to make accurate renewable energy sourcing claims.

We are pleased to be an affiliate of the Coalition which seeks to build momentum, shape policy and develop the market for negative emissions globally.

The PD Forum is a collaborative association and collective voice of companies and practioners that are developing and financing greenhouse gas emission reduction projects in all regions of our globe.
