Iain Watt is Principal Sustainability Advisor at Forum for the Future, helping partners develop a full understanding of their exposure to climate risk. He joined Forum for the Future in 2005 after seven years working for Ceres in the US (a leading coalition of investment funds, environmental organisations and other public interest groups). At Ceres, his work was focused on corporate accountability and sustainability reporting, and he co-drafted the first two editions of the Global Reporting Initiative’s Sustainability Reporting Guidelines. Iain specialised in climatology in his geography degree, and through experience believes too many companies continue to approach climate change as a compliance issue, meaning they focus on their operational emissions. He advocates addressing climate change through developing climate-resilient supply chains, and a suite of products and services that are fit-for-purpose in a world that both experiences climate change and has to respond to it.
