“Non–Personally–Identifying Information” is information that cannot be directly associated with a specific person or entity without the aid of additional information.
“Personally–Identifying Information,” by contrast, is information that can be directly associated with a specific person or entity (such as a name or email address) without the aid of additional information.
Like most website operators, Natural Capital Partners gathers from users of the Website Non-Personally-Identifying Information of the sort that Web browsers, depending on their settings, may make available. Natural Capital Partners collects both Non-Personally-Identifying Information and Personally-Identifying Information (as described in the Sections titled “Personally-Identifying Information Submitted by Using the Personal Offset Calculator” from users who use the Personal Offset. Natural Capital Partners collects the following Non-Personally-Identifying Information from the Personal Offset Calculator:

(1) Users of the Personal Offset Calculator will submit individual or collective household information including (a) flight airport pairings with the class of flights and the number of people flying; (b) the number of flights and the type of flight; (c) the specific car or general class of car driven and how much it has been used; (d) the amount of energy used (e.g., electricity, compressed gas, oil, LPG) over a specified time period; (e) the percentage of electricity that comes from clean, renewable sources such as solar wind; (f) the amount of non-recycled waste produced over a specified time period; (g) the amount and frequency of regular travel (i.e., commuting) including by car, motorcycle, train, light rail or tram, bus or coach, tube or subway, and ferry; (h) manually entered tonnes of emissions; (i) a choice of carbon offset portfolio;
Natural Capital Partners analyzes the Non–Personally–Identifying Information gathered from users of the Personal Offset Calculator to help Natural Capital Partners better understand how the Website is being used as described above. From time to time in its sole and absolute discretion, Natural Capital Partners may also release such Non–Personally–Identifying Information in the aggregate. Natural Capital Partners also combines the Non-Personally-Identifying Information gathered from users of the Personal Offset Calculator with Personally-Identifying Information gathered from users of the Website and uses and discloses such information as described in the section titled “Collection, Use and Disclosure of Personally-Identifying Information” below and releases such combined information in the aggregate.
Campaigns and surveys
Natural Capital Partners may conduct Campaigns and Surveys at the Website from time to time. Campaigns and Surveys collect both Non-Personally-Identifying Information and Personally-Identifying Information provided by users at the time that they register to participate, if ever. Natural Capital Partners may collect the following Non-Personally-Identifying Information from Campaigns and Surveys: personal and/or company emissions and statistics, personal and/or company emission reductions and savings, and statements of environmental policy and opinion.
Campaigns and Surveys help Natural Capital Partners improve its services and products. Such Non-Personally-Identifying Information gathered from Campaigns and Surveys may be analyzed and disclosed in aggregated form.
Collection, Use and Disclosure of Personally–Identifying Information
As defined above, Personally-Identifying Information is information that can be directly associated with a specific person or entity (such as a name or email address) without the aid of additional information. Natural Capital Partners collects a range of Personally-Identifying Information from and about Website users. Users of the Website are under no obligation to provide Natural Capital Partners with Personally–Identifying Information of any kind, with the caveat that a user’s refusal to do so may prevent the user from using certain Website features.
Personally-identifying information submitted by campaign and survey registration
In addition to the Non-Personally-Identifying Information provided by registrants of the Campaigns and Surveys (as described in the Section titled “Campaigns and Surveys” above), registrants of the Campaigns and Surveys may also provide the following Personally-Identifying Information through their registration of the Campaigns and Surveys: contact information including the participant’s first and last name, email address, company name (if applicable), address, city, state, zip code, country of residence, telephone number, cell phone number and the like. Natural Capital Partners will use and disclose such Personally-Identifying Information as described herein.
Personally-identifying information submitted by using the personal offset calculator
In addition to the Non-Personally-Identifying Information provided by users of the Personal Offset Calculator (as described in the Section titled “Offset Calculators” above), users of the Personal Offset Calculator may also provide the following Personally-Identifying Information through their use of the Personal Offset Calculator: the region they live in. Natural Capital Partners will use and disclose such Personally-Identifying Information as described herein.
Contacting Natural Capital Partners for information
When users contact Natural Capital Partners to request more information about Natural Capital Partners products and services, each user may provide Personally-Identifying Information such as a name, company name, email address and telephone number. Natural Capital Partners may engage third parties to administer customer service on its behalf from time to time in its sole discretion.
Notices of violations of website terms of service and other communications directed to Natural Capital Partners
By submitting a communication (including communications about content stored on or transmitted through the Website) to Natural Capital Partners, you consent to have such communication forwarded to the person or entity who stored or transmitted the content addressed by your communication, in order to facilitate a prompt resolution. Upon written request Natural Capital Partners will edit out your name and contact information.
Natural Capital Partners may email users about products and services that Natural Capital Partners believes may be of interest to them. Natural Capital Partners also may provide users’ email information to third parties so that those third parties may directly contact users about additional products and services that Natural Capital Partners believes may be of interest to them. Succeeding the point in time that Natural Capital Partners has collected an email address from a user, if a user wishes to prospectively opt-out of having their email information provided to third parties at any time, they may do so by sending Natural Capital Partners an email at email@example.com. Even after opting-out, a user may continue to receive marketing emails from third parties to whom Natural Capital Partners have already provided the user’s email information. Users will be responsible for directly contacting such third parties to request cessation of further marketing emails.
As described in the previous subsections of this “Collection, Use and Disclosure of Personally–Identifying Information” section, users may, at their option, disclose their own Personally-Identifying Information by any means they choose, including without limitation through registering with the Website, using the Personal Offset Calculator and contacting Natural Capital Partners (including third parties engaged byNatural Capital Partners) for additional information about Natural Capital Partners products and services. Natural Capital Partners discloses Personally–Identifying Information to Natural Capital Partners employees, contractors, affiliates, third party service providers, vendors, suppliers and intermediaries, such as credit card authorization companies, who process Personally–Identifying Information on Natural Capital Partners behalf, or participate with Natural Capital Partners in the provision or operation of the Website (including without limitationNatural Capital Partners Europe Limited). Natural Capital Partners also discloses Personally-Identifying Information if Natural Capital Partners has a good faith belief that Natural Capital Partners is required to do so by law, or that doing so is reasonably necessary to: (i) comply with legal process; (ii) respond to any spamming and related abuses of netiquette claims; or (iii) protect the rights, property or personal safety ofNatural Capital Partners, Natural Capital Partners users or the public.
Personally-Identifying Information may be stored on servers in the United States and in foreign jurisdictions, and, as a result, may be subject to access requests from law enforcement in such jurisdictions.
