Following the announcement of our new corporate identity on 29th September, we were delighted that our clients and partners could join us at the OXO Tower in London to share the thinking behind our name change and hear from two speakers on the importance of managing natural capital assets.

Tuesday 29th September, 2015, OXO Tower, London
“Our new name reflects who we are and what we do; providing solutions to address our clients' impacts on carbon, energy, water, biodiversity and communities - the world's natural capital,” announced Stephen Killeen, Chairman & CEO of Natural Capital Partners.
Joined by Justin Adams of The Nature Conservancy and Mark Gough of The Natural Capital Coalition, we heard their insights on the importance of investing in natural capital assets.
Justin asked: “How do we actually inspire more action to invest in nature, because nature’s solutions deliver so many values to society and values to business?”
He went on to talk about the pressure on our natural resources requiring far smarter solutions as we face the mounting challenge to provide food, energy, housing and water for nine billion people. Justin called on all sectors – private, public and civil society – to collaborate and ensure we find ways of investing in our natural capital assets, including trees, watersheds and soil, to provide a sustainable planet.
“Carbon is a driver and great proxy for measuring interventions in the landscape, but we’ve got to move beyond carbon and recognise the multitude of co-benefits that come from investing in nature.”
Mark Gough spoke about the need for a standardised framework for businesses to be able to understand and account for their natural capital impacts and dependencies, introducing The Natural Capital Protocol which will be launched next July. Seeking to address the lack of information on why nature is so important, the protocol intends to stimulate more informed business decision making.
He pointed out that: “We don’t include the values of the things that we value most in decision making.”
For all those who attended the event, we thank you for taking the time to join our celebration. For those who couldn’t join us, we missed you and hope we’ll be able to see you at another event soon.
Here is a selection of photos from the evening.
