Natural Capital Partners is pleased to have joined RECS International. As a member, we are part of a network of more than 140 industry organisations from around the world with the common goal of stimulating clean energy demand and promoting the generation of new renewable technologies.

A non-profit based in the Netherlands, RECS International was established in 2001 and aims to improve and simplify electricity tracking systems to enable businesses to make credible renewable energy sourcing claims. Although historically focused on the European market, the work of RECS International is not restricted to Europe.

Natural Capital Partners’ Managing Director Global Markets, Joe Barclay, commented: “Accessing high quality renewable energy that meets business needs and matches electricity consumption around the world is a priority for our clients. Like RECS International, we strive to ensure tracking systems are credible, reliable and cost-effective, and look forward to collaborating with other members to take the industry forward.”

RECS International has similar goals to the Association of Issuing Bodies (AIB) and represents renewable energy industry players in consultation with national and European legislative organisations, for example in the review of the European Renewable Energy Directive (2009/28/EC).

By actively participating in working groups through RECS International, we are able to help shape the future of the renewable energy industry while ensuring our clients are provided with the latest market updates.

In addition, as a founding member of the International Carbon Reduction and Offset Alliance (ICROA), we will bring insight from RECS International to the ICROA working group on renewable energy, helping to accelerate the transfer of best practice between the carbon and renewable energy markets.
